This sounds like a zany 80s movie. A bunch of fancy-ass frogs with their hoity-toity, no-puppies-allowed country club, and a couple of fun loving but broke puppies who just want to play golf and swim in their pool and hit on the cute frog daughters hanging around the country club. Co-starring Bill Murray. I’m into it.

I guess the plan, with the U.S. space shuttle fleet grounded, was to hitch rides and do supply runs to the International Space Station with our old friends the Russians, right?

Yeah, well, the Russians have blown up their second rocket in less than a week — this one a Soyuz class carrying three tons of foodstuffs, fuel and other supplies to the ISS.

Not to worry — the Space Station was fully stocked during the final shuttle mission.  But two rockets lost in the span of a week can’t possibly be a good harbinger of things to come for our new partnership with Russia.
